Advantages of Electric Water Bath type LPG vaporizer
Advantages of Electric Water Bath type vaporizer are controllability, vaporization stability and safety. Electric heater warms the water in the bath. And this hot water indirectly heats the liquid LPG running through the heat exchanger tube.
As the heat source is hot water with a gradual temperature change, the vaporization ability is stable and controllable. And even if there is a problem with the heat source, the vaporization ability can be exerted while the water is warm.

As the Liquid LPG (Propane) is heated indirectly by the hot water, it is safer than Direct Fire type vaporizers.
In some countries with specific gas regulations, Electric Water Bath type can be installed much closer to the tank / cylinders.
And its operation is noiseless.

Function of Thermo Valve as a safety device **1
KAGLA THERMO VALVE is a safety mechanism to prevent Liquid Carryover to the consumption side.
The same system is equipped with all Kagla’s domestic electric water bath vaporizers in Japan.
And it is positioned at the top cover of the vaporizer.
When the gas consumption exceeds the vaporization capacity of the vaporizer, Vaporization may not catch up with gas consumption by the combustion equipment.
In this case, the non-vaporized liquid LPG may flow to downstream gas piping.
THERMO VALVE functions to avoid liquid carryover by shutting off the liquid at the inlet of the vaporizer.
It has metal tube to lead to the water bath with temperature sensing part at the end.
When the water temperature is high, the liquid inside the metal tube expands, pushing against the bellows and opening the valve.
If the water temperature drops due to some kind of trouble, the liquid inside the metal pipe will shrink and lose its force to hold down the bellows, causing the valve to close.
It doesn’t require any external power source(electricity, pilot air or else) and thus it works reliably under any conditions.
Self-diagnosis Function – Display on Electric Control Panel
- Operation status of vaporizer can be monitored on the electric control panel from remote place.
- Combination of “lighting on” and “flashing on/off” indicate both the operation status and the cause of the problem.
- When the numbers 4 / 5 are displayed, operation of the vaporizer is interrupted.
